Hello Raphael!
So a year has passed and I finally got around to start my project. Arduino DiamondBack 1.0 (Arduino with WiShield right on the board) is on my table and I am starting to do some actual work on it.
So far I only accomplished a simple Socket connection, that shows wether an LED is on, or off (http://youtu.be/4cG7RpYVUNo).

Did you also base your work on the SocketApp example that came with the WiShield? Thats what I did and so far, I didn’t manage to get instantaneous responds.

Would you please be willing to share some snippets of your code? I know you said earlier, that they are very specific to your environment, but still they would help me a lot. My next step is to have the same monitoring app running on my iPhone.

Very great Project!
I am really interested in how you connected your iPhone with the Arduino. I read many articles about Open Sound Control etc. but I’d like to know your solution. Would it be possible for you to send me the Xcode Project so that I can learn about the Socket Connection you used to communicate with your Arduino.

Hey David,

the iPhone communicates with the WiShield (a WiFi Shield for Arduino) via a socket connection.

Great project!
I am up to do something similar, yet I don’t plan to use the DMX, instead I will use just plain relays and some dimmers that I haven’t yet figured out
What I would like to ask is if you could share some thoughts about programming the iPhone app to properly communicate with the Arduino please?

This a very cool project, is there any chance you would be willing share the source? I’m not really interested in the light show but more so on using UDP / TCP to speak directly to the wifi shield with a iphone app.

I planned to make a similar project in my room.
I searched the web for some information and came across your amazing project.
I know that you wrote the app for your own specification, but can you share some information about the connection between the iPhone and the WiFi-Shield? maybe a piece of code that handles the initial connection and the data transfer.
